Do you know these books that you want to start right after you finish them? Those gems happen rarely, but for me, “Project Hail Mary” is definitely one of them.

I haven’t been much of a fan of space sci-fi books simply because it was
mainly about some kind of battle between humans and aliens, fighting over dominance or other confrontations in space. I just got used to it being either a central arc of the story or a means of advancing the plot. Same with movies.
Andy Weir and his Martian changed my mind about this sub-genre, and Project Hail Mary once again proved that space sci-fi could be about the curiosity of life, friendship, discoveries, and, well…science and technology!

Weir’s writing style is engaging and breathtaking. He knows when to slow down and when to speed up. He has an ability to guide you through the darkness of space in the most vivid ways. His talent for describing complex scientific experiments in a way that is understandable without having a scientific degree is fascinating. Oh man, I wish I had a science teacher as one of his characters. I have been curious about life sciences forever, I just didn’t have the right mentor to nurture this curiosity and help turn it into something more than just a hobby reading.

I enjoyed every second of this thrilling journey through space!
This is the story you want to describe with all those words publishers like to put on the back pages as reviews — a hilarious, smart, captivating, and damn witty read! My heartbeat worked in different rhythms, my imagination was filled with new pictures, and my mind was overflowing with new questions. I laughed, wondered, got excited, got anxious, cried, and experienced a whole range of emotions.

Sorry, it’s impossible to give insights into the story without spoilers, so I am finishing my English review here. I will continue in Ukrainian though, because it will be a long till it is published at home, and I feel like it’s a crime not to share this story with sci-fi fans.

Thank you, Andy! This book was a hell of a ride!
Amaze!
Fist-bump, question?
